WHY OUR COMMUNITY GARDENS

Community gardens are a vital component of our project's mission as they are a powerful tool for Improving Food Security and Nutrition, Promoting Health and Wellness, Empowering Communities and Building Resilience and Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship in Nakatooke and Kiduuzi villages.

By bringing people together and providing access to fresh produce, knowledge and skills these gardens foster a sense of belonging, improve the well-being of our vulnerable people and promote sustainability. The foods, vegetables and fruits we grow and harvest goes towards helping the people in most need in both our communities and these people include the Elderly, widows, those with disabilities, the orphans, very poor families that can not have any access to land. On the other special not, we give out most our harvests to our community churches that gathers and feeds a number of people who are in most need and most hungry of which these include the street children, prisoners, and those with disabilities.
